Welcome to CFEFA’s online credit counseling and financial education programs. You will need to register with us before you begin your counseling or education process.

 

Pre-bankruptcy Credit Counseling:

CFEFA is approved for internet, email, fax or mail   counseling ONLY in the State of Alabama.

For internet counseling click on the  link below to register. You will read the disclosure statements and fee waiver policy prior to registration. By clicking on the tab, you are prompted to register on the Application page. Once this is complete and you click submit, the system will automatically email you a verification of registration and a unique client identification number.

When your registration is complete, your file will be assigned to a counselor.

The counselor will review and analyze the financial information you provide,  and then assists you in developing a plan to respond to your needs without incurring negative amortization of debt. The counselor will outline the available counseling opportunities and prepares a budget for you and your family in an action plan that will be either mailed, emailed or faxed to you as soon as possible.

 A copy of the certificate will be sent to your attorney if you have provided that information.

 

Post-Bankruptcy Financial Education for residents of the State of Alabama only:

Prior to registration, you will read the disclosure statements and fee waiver policy. After you have registered, log in at www.cfefa.org and click on “Financial Education” to begin the process. You will view a 2  hour video and complete a verification web form and test. A bankruptcy case number is required to complete the education program and receive a certificate. Your certificate will be emailed to you after CFEFA receives the evaluation form, bankruptcy case number, code sheet and test. We will also provide a copy to your attorney if you have provided that information.
